I'm looking for an inexpensive Hand gun for a job, can anyone help?

I'm becoming a PSC (Private Security Contractor) and although I have a pretty good knowledge about guns I can't say that i've fired every handgun known to man. Out of anybody's personal experience what -9mm- handgun do you favor the most.

P.S. I'm strapped for cash, and I live in California so i can't go out and buy a Five Seven.

Reply:Honestly, my choice in a 9x19mm handgun is the Beretta 92FS. However, my preference in a firearm is something in .45acp, the 92 is a great range gun as it's fun and cheap to shoot and works in a pinch like when my work site doesn't like the .45 i brought. I have an FNP-45 which i got out the door for 600 dollars. The 92FS I've seen going for about 500-600 dollars depending where i look.

The plus side to the 92FS is that it is double/single action and the decocker and safety are a single switch, albeit place on the slide high and to the rear. Every 92 style handgun i have ever used was always pretty dead on as far as accuracy and sight alignment, the recoil is very manageable and is good for a follow up shot.

All I've got to say is that you get what you pay for, good luck and congratulations on your job.
Reply:You didn't give a budget, but....

For 9mm, I would say a Springfield XD. I have on in .40 S%26amp;W and I like it quite a bit.

That said, I have also used a buddy's Taurus PT92 many times. It is literally a Beretta 92FS/M9 with a cheaper price tag (Taurus bought some of B's factories a while back).

You could also look into some 9mm 1911 variant, but they are expensive, and people with real 1911s (i.e. .45ACP) will mock you. :-D
Reply:Many PSC's use the CZ 75 B, there must be a good reason for this choice and there is, tack driving accuracy and faultless reliability in a pistol that is under $500.00 USD.
Reply:I would go with either a Taurus or a springfield XD. Both can be had for under 500.00 Not sure about cali's handgun laws and their restrictions on high capacity magazines.

You may also consider buying used such as a glock.
Reply:REALLY strapped for cash?

Hi-Point.

Did he just say Hi-point? Woah man I think he said Hi-Point.

Yeah. The cheapest thing your gonna get the shoots straight and won't blow up on you.
Reply:Taurus.
