I am a recent graduate for a Medical Assistant program and I am looking for a humanitarian type job. I.E working with natural disasters or in other countries, or with people who really need the help. I would join the peace corps but i am a single mom and they don't allow you to take children with you.
Any suggestions? looking for humanitarian job?
Red Cross? Social service agency (a place that helps poor people)? In your local area look for a Catholic Charities or Jewish Family and Children's Services or a group with "community action" in its name. BTW I salute you for wanting to dome something to help other people.
Reply:If you're wanting to do a job in the humanitarian field that is in the disaster management area, you may want to take some training in the emergency management area before you start working in this area. If you have this armed with some of the other areas of experience, then you're more likely to be able to get on in a field like this.
