i am diploma in mech.engineering,working as sr.piping construction supervisor with JGC MIDDLE EAST a JAPANES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.I have 16 years expirienceover which 8 years in middle east . i have worked for petrochemicals, oil and gas projects, steel pellitizing plants,envirmental projects in aluiminium industries.

Gas pipelines being constructed throughout Australia and gas field in the North West Shelf, off the NW coast of Western Australia. Other gas pipelines in the SW corner of Queensland - NE corner of South Australia. A few smallish gas power stations in Queensland.
Aluminium industry in Tasmania (smelter), bauxite mine at Weipa on Cape York, alumina refinery and smelter at Gladstone in Central Queensland with associated coal fired power station - three or more large turbines. Many years ago I was told the Gladstone smelter was to duplicate its pot line. That would have been done by now.
Also in Rockhampton - Gladstone region development of magnesite deposits. Dead-burned magnesite being produced with some possibility of metal production.
Townsville, Qld. Copper refinery for copper from Mt. Isa well to the west. In Western Australia iron mining on a large scale.
Massive boom going on in coal mining in Central Queensland but if you take a job there bring your own house. Most of the coal is for metallurgical use, so plenty of washing plants.
Old boss tells me just today that the all the foundries in Australia and New Zealand are fully occupied with work for the mining industry.
