Comcast fired me because supervisor found out I was looking for another job?

Told some co-workers that I was looking for a new job because working every Saturday and Sunday for the next year really sucked in my opinion. BTW I was looking for a new job on my own time at home not using Comcast's resources. My supervisor says that I was causing negative energy by doing this and lead me out the building. COMCAST IS A CULT!!!! Workers aren't allowed to think for themselves and if they do they get canned. In fact working at Comcast if you mention the word "God" or "Jesus" or "Allah" and you get fired for it. I've seen it first hand. Now my question, since I live in a right to work state (Georgia) can I take any legal action?

Georgia is an at-will state. They can fire you if they want to. I can't believe you are not surprised by this. Everyone knows that you should not discuss other job interests at work. I understand why they fired you. You could have just quit in the middle of the week when you found a new job and they could really need you. They fired you to avoid a situation that could possibly put them in a bind.
Reply:Fcuk the right to work. You are worth more than a company that gives you crappy hours and fires you for looking other places. Of course if you're lazy and useless then no one will want to hire you.
Reply:Sorry to say this, but that is SUPER ILLEGAL for them to do that. They can only fire you if you are like slacking in your job, not doing what you are supposed to do, or had a bad driving record. They can't just fire you for having an opinion!!! I'd go back and tell them or report it to the police!
Reply:Sorry. If you were looking for another job, you should've had the sense NOT to tell ANYONE outside your house.
Reply:Yes you should go for legally challenging their decision. You should do it at least to expose such an unethical behaviour.





In the mean time I think lot of money can be earned on internet.

Reply:First off I am not sure what being in a right to work state has to do with this situation because that law is for people that don't want to join unions.





Second, not to bring you down but as long as the business doesn't fire you for being black or a woman they can fire you for just about anything. They don't have to prove wrong-doing or anything. Your boss can simply not like you and you can be fired. Legally, they really do have a lot of freedom in firing.





Call a lawyer and ask, but I am guessing there is nothing you can do.
